(1) Full container load (FCL). A full container refers to a container that is filled by the shipper and then shipped in units of boxes. The general practice is for the carrier to transport the empty container to the factory or warehouse, and the cargo is loaded, sealed, or sealed by the shipper before handing it over to the carrier and obtaining a station receipt. Finally, the station receipt is exchanged for a bill of lading.
(2) Less than container load (LCL). LCL (Less than Container Load) refers to the classification, sorting, consolidation, packing, and delivery of small parcels of goods that the carrier or agent accepts from the consignor and the quantity is not sufficient for a full container load, based on the nature of the goods and the destination, all of which are carried out at the carrier's terminal container freight station (VFS) or inland container operation station.
